The Enterprise SDLC Policy & Process group within the Enterprise Application Portfolio Management organization is responsible for providing a common and consistent framework for systems development lifecycle (SDLC) and application lifecycle management (ALM) disciplines in order to increase efficiency, effectiveness and standards adherence across the Wells Fargo enterprise.

The Business Systems Consultant (BSC) will play an integral role in the teams ability to achieve its objectives. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Enhancing SDLC/ALM corporate standards to align to enterprise goals and objectives
  • Reviewing and analyzing other partners corporate policies or standards to understand SDLC/ALM impacts and resolve overlaps or gaps
  • Partnering with Enterprise SDLC Governance to develop and implement SDLC/ALM corporate standards metrics
  • Establishing and executing SDLC/ALM corporate standards implementation planning and roll-out activities
  • Managing and tracking SDLC/ALM corporate standards exception requests
  • Participating in risk management activities, including BPRM SDLC/ALM risk assessments
  • Providing SDLC/ALM corporate standards consultations and guidance across the enterprise
  • Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders and partners
  • Organizing and/or leading cross-functional, enterprise-wide process design, re-engineering or process improvement initiatives
  • Performing end to end analysis of current state and developing future state process designs, including BPMN process maps
  • Partnering with Learning and Development to develop and implement SDLC/ALM corporate standards training

The ideal candidate will possess a broad range of process and strategic design skills to optimize processes for efficiency, control alignment and risk mitigation. This candidate will have an extensive background and strong foundation in SDLC and ALM principles. This self-directed, motivated and creative professional will possess skills in business analysis and process engineering. Developing strong partnerships, balancing multiple priorities, providing strong leadership in a changing environment and driving projects to completion in an expedient manner while maintaining quality are all characteristics of a successful candidate in this role.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of business systems analysis experience, business systems design experience, or a combination of both
  • 7+ years of SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • 5+ years of process engineering experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of Six Sigma or reengineering disciplines
  • Ability to interact with all levels of an organization
  • Strong relationship management skills
  • Ability to assess current processes/procedures and make recommendations for efficiency
  • Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills with ability to turn findings into strategic imperatives
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Experience maintaining corporate policies or standards
  • Exposure and experience with the Wells Fargo Business Process Management Framework and BPMN notation
  • Exposure and experience with ITIL, COBIT and governance frameworks
  • Knowledge and understanding of distributed and mainframe platforms
