KEYS FOR THE ROLE **Looking for a DevOps/Big Data resource with experience developing high-level Java/Scala applications in Hadoop environments handling HBase, Hive, Spark, Pig and Map-Reduce utilities. Hands-on experience on MQ (Message queue) handling with XML messages. Need experience with Spark API call jobs. Responsible for implementing multiple monitoring systems for their cloud-based environments and creating alerting/reporting tools for those environments. Will automate the creation and security of cloud-based environments (IaaS) for various applications (web-based, REST API's and services)**


Summary:


Mature the DevOps mindset within the agile teams using techniques such as Acceptance Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Delivery to provide quality products with seamless integration across Development, Quality Assurance, Infrastructure, Operations, and Release Management roles


The complexity of this role can be challenging. We deal with huge amounts of data across our entire enterprise. Everything you work on will have implications that impact others. We'll provide the most up-to-date technology, but you'll need to provide creativity, critical thinking and clarity on an everyday basis.


Primary Responsibilities:



  • Perform all phases of software engineering including requirements analysis, application design, code development and testing
  • Design and implement product features in collaboration with business and IT stakeholders
  • Design reusable components, frameworks and libraries
  • Work very closely with architecture groups and drive solution
  • Participate in an Agile/Scrum methodology to deliver high-quality software releases every 2 weeks through Sprints
  • Design and develop innovative solutions to meet the needs of the business
  • Review code and provide feedback relative to best practices and improving performance
  • Troubleshoot production support issues post-deployment and come up with solutions as required
  • Mentor and guide other software engineers within the team
  • Demonstrate collaborative skills working within a project team of diverse skills
  • Bring strong communication skills including oral, written and presentation skills plus creativity, and problem-solving skills to a challenging environment Working closely with the engineering/DevOps team to scope, architect, and deploy innovative technical solutions to problems
  • Automating the creation and security of cloud-based environments (IaaS) for various applications (including web-based applications, Rest API's, and services)
  • Implementing multiple monitoring systems of our cloud-based environments and creating alerting and reporting tools for those environments
  • Working directly with application development teams to implement Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment pipelines for multiple software instances
  • Mentoring and informing software engineering teams in the ways of proper CI/CD best practices
  • Working with various external vendors and internal teams to implement, deploy, and maintain our application infrastructure
  • Partnering with product owners and engineering teams to identify areas for improved efficiencies in CI/CD as well as monitoring and reporting
  • Taking responsibility for managing the backup, restoration, rollback, update, and migration of our systems
  • Developing in-depth knowledge of systems and products
  • Providing some level of application/infrastructure support which will be expected throughout the year

Required Qualifications:



  • 4+ years of experience in large development initiatives
  • 4+ years of experience in developing high volume Java/JEE or Scala applications
  • 2+ years of experience with complex shell scripting using Unix & Python
  • 1+ years of experience in developing distributed computing systems applications using Hadoop, Hbase, Hive, Java/MapReduce, Kibana (ELK Stack), Spark, Storm, Kafka, Flume, Sqoop, Drill, Impala, Oozie & Pig
  • Experience developing database applications
  • 1+ years of agile experience
  • 6+ months cloud experience (AWS, Azure, Containers, Docker etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience in troubleshooting performance issues
  • Experience with multiple file structures and programming languages
  • Thorough understanding of technological infrastructure and how it relates to projects
  • Experience working in a DevOps model using Agile
  • Experience with CI/CD with Jenkins pipelines, OpenShift, Gradle, GitHub and SVN
  • Any experience building RESTful APIs
  • Test Automation experience
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Healthcare domain background
