We are looking for someone to serve as a senior member of the GIS (Global Information Services) Operations team with a broad spectrum of managerial and operational responsibilities. The GIS Operations team has responsibilities for all of the administrative tasks of GIS (e.g. client on-boarding, billings, terminations, communications, and product set-ups) alongside significant work supporting acquisitions, process efficiencies and systems requirements, testing and implementation.

This position reports directly to the SVP for GIS Operations and requires strong communication and project management skills coupled with exceptional data and operations expertise. Ideally, the successful candidate will have deep experience with regulated and unregulated exchange products, dealing with buy- and sell-clients from an administrative perspective and working with systems and processes.

While not immediately in scope, it likely that the position will involve supporting broad on-boarding activities for various third-party data sets associated with GIS' Analytics Hub Initiative and activities for the firm-wide Data Governance Initiative that falls under the remit of the SVP for GIS Operations.

Given the broad nature of this leadership position, the ideal candidate is expected to operate across a broad range of responsibilities. These responsibilities range from day-to-day operational tasks within market data administration to strategic planning to project management and acquisition integration. Given the breadth of these activities, the successful candidate is expected to have a broad range of skills, including exceptional project and process management, communications, and data management.

Some of the anticipated responsibilities of this position include:

  • Overseeing GIS(Global Information Services) Operations' book of strategic initiatives from a governance, project management, communications and delivery perspective
  • Working collaboratively with the other groups within Operations to identify and implement process improvements according to applicable best practice standards (e.g. Six Sigma, Total Quality Management, Performance Management and Agile SDLC)
  • Working collaborative with other groups within GIS and across company departments on shared projects, processes and systems (e.g. CRM, ERM) to implement management objectives, share best practices and to coordinate integrated activities
  • Supporting adoption of appropriate industry best practices for data management policies, standards and practices as defined by the Data Governance Initiative. This likely includes metrics, SLAs, and process identification, documentation and optimization.
  • Supporting due diligence analysis and integration of GIS impacted acquisitions as relates to operations
  • Ensuring that data related business requirements for compliance with regulatory imperatives (e.g. GDPR) and for protecting data assets are clearly defined, communicated and well understood and considered as part of operational prioritization and planning
  • Ensuring that the department is in compliance with various requirements as defined and promulgated by the Enterprise Risk Management Program
  • Leading efforts to develop a repeatable process to on-board diverse datasets for the Analytics Hub Initiative from an operations perspective (e.g. client engagement, data on-boarding, data profiling and data exception handling)

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline is required. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience in the financial industry.
  • Strong knowledge of market data products and associated business processes.
  • Strong Capital Markets knowledge, ideally with hands-on experience in Data Operations and working across asset classes.
  • Strong project management skills and systems/process management skills.
  • Strong understanding of the importance and benefits of good data management processes and the ability to champion results.
  • Excellent facilitation, influencing and negotiation skills, including the ability to gain cross-departmental consensus.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to think independently and to see the "bigger picture."
  • Initiative and ability to use technical knowledge to identify and address key issues, and determine resolution strategies aligned to business needs.

  • Ability to prioritize and be self-sufficient in identifying and accomplishing goals; innovative thinker willing to challenge the status quo for improvements in operational efficiency.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to work as part of a team are essential.
