Our client has a 4+ month contract opportunity for an Assistant Hardware Engineer / Project Coordinator. In Rocklin, CA


This position is with a large payment company and will offer the ability to work with international clients.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


- Performs hardware engineering design development and customer enabling tasks.


- Preforms PM of small projects. Small projects included product customization and cost reduced part projects.


- Work closely with the hardware design development teams and contribute technically as a team member.


- Solves complex and broad reaching problems.


- Diagnoses hardware and systems failures to analyze and resolve customer issues with fix resolutions implemented.


- Create/update documentation after resolution of issues.


- Create ECOs (Engineer Change Orders) and MCOs.


- Develops and maintains positive customer relationships.


- Coordinates with various functions within the company to ensure customer escalations are handled appropriately and in a timely manner.


- Demonstrates technical leadership.


Knowledge & Experience:


The prospective candidate must be a highly motivated energetic professional capable of multi-tasking for both hardware design and project management task work. Position requirement includes following:


- EE/ME Hardware Engineering development skills.


- Be able to work on multiple projects at same time.


- PM work experience in Hi-Tech Electronics Industry.


- PM experience co-developing with remote teams.


- Work on projects that takes an existing product and customizing that product to meet regional country specific requirements.


- Cost reduced second source parts projects.


- Work with Engineering, QA and a multiple of other internal organizations including Product Marketing, Supply Chain, etc. Must be highly collaborative - Operates well in a highly matrixes environment.


- Agile Product Lifecycle Management experience.


- Be able to do ECOs.


- Ability to create/update product documentation.


- Capable of reading and understanding Hardware Part Specifications.


- Able to read electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics.


- Analysis skills including failure analysis investigation of hardware electrical and mechanical designs.


- Knowledge of Solid Works.


- Experience using Adobe Acrobat Reader, Excel, Word.


- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills and thrive in virtual, cross-geo and cross-functional groups.


- Outstanding management and communication skills regarding technical topics.


- Position requires applicant to work on site at our client's development center.


Education:


Prefered Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or CS major.


Desired: - PMP, CAPM or other PM credential or PM work experience.
