Join Wells Fargo Asset Management as part of WFS Technology in support of the WFAM Investment Analytics and Compliance business functions. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the development, maintenance and support of mission critical systems that enable these business functions. This presents a unique opportunity to work on proprietary platforms that house a full range of buy side investments data for a $500 billion asset manager, in close proximity to business users who are excellent partners with technology on solutions development.

Job Responsibilities

Deliver high quality and effective technology solutions to our customers. This includes the development of new applications, enhancements of existing applications, and support of all the legacy applications used by our customers. In this role, you will also provide mentoring to junior staff and collaborate with other development and business analyst leads to ensure desired outcomes on key business or technology and regulatory related initiatives.

Participate in all aspects of a project including mentoring and oversight of junior team members and especially work effort estimation, sizing, planning and communication of clear timelines with assumptions and caveats noted that could affect timelines.

Provide expert consultation and support in the development of LOB critical applications and database code. Analyze business requirements, designs and write technical specifications to design or redesign applications or databases. Develop original and/or complex code or provides coding guidance to less experienced staff. Develop solutions that can leverage existing development/tools as well as create solutions that act as building blocks for future development. Lead and/or performs modeling, simulations and analysis efforts. Verify program logic by overseeing the preparation of test data, testing and debugging of programs. Participate in overall systems testing. Lead the migration of applications through lower environments and into production. Develop new documentation, participate in the development of department technical procedures and design user guides.

Perform application support and troubleshooting, provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff in resolution of escalated issues and/or complex production, application or system problems.

Lead a project, including assignment of tasks, and provide direction and guidance to less experienced staff.

Assure quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported area and oversee updating and testing of the business continuation plan.

Ensure compliance with all SDLC policies and procedures including effective planning of all changes in advance to ensure all required lead times, SDLC checkpoints, etc. are met.

Required Qualifications

10+ years of application development and implementation experience10+ years of SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) experience10+ years of development experience with one or more of the following: Java, C++, C#, C, or .NET6+ years of experience with databases such as Oracle, DB2, SQL server, or Teradata6+ years of experience analyzing requirements and designing new solutions for application and database components6 + years of experience writing relational database queries for stored procedures, query optimization and performance tuning6+ years of institutional investment management experience2+ years of experience leading technical development teams2+ years of strategic planning and development experienceA BS/BA degree or higher in science or technology
