Successful candidate will play a key role as a developer on the Investment Technology Development (ITD) team focusing on the analysis, design, development/enhancement, maintenance, testing, and support of the firm's investment applications. The candidate will work with the Investment Technology Business Systems Consultant (BSC) teams, the WFAM Infrastructure team, and key technology partners to implement technology solutions. In addition, the candidate will work closely with the ITD manager and team to recommend and influence the adoption of standards, best practices, and consistent/repeatable solutions that can be leveraged by the entire team.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Interacting regularly with the BSC teams to pro-actively understand the technology needs of the firms various investment teams.
  • Performing trading system design and development functions to implement complex system needs and solutions.
  • Partnering with ITD team members in the development of specifications and computer programs to build solutions and/or to customize and integrate vended solutions.
  • Supporting existing and developing new trade-related technology solutions.
  • Demonstrating outstanding teamwork, attention to detail, and flexibility.
  • Delivering solutions that are of the highest quality and value both for the team and the business.
  • Driving for results, conveying a sense of urgency, and bringing issues to closure despite obstacles and opposition.
  • Required Qualifications

    10+ years of application development and implementation experience5+ years of Java experience5+ years of MS SQL server experience

  • Understanding of Investment business, processes, and terminology.
  • Experience developing, supporting, and customizing the Charles River Investment Management System (CRIMS) platform.
  • Demonstrated capability in providing technical leadership on development projects.
  • Excellent documentation skills to ensure repeatable standards, best practices, and consistent approaches for support teams.
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply new concepts to solve complex business and technology problems.
  • Strong planning and decision-making skills.
  • Skilled in Windows batch scripting.
  • Skilled in source code control (GitHub), builds (Maven, Gradle), and deployments (Anthill, etc.).
  • Experience with the following technologies: JPA/Hibernate, PrimeFaces, IntelliJ, Maven, and Gradle.
  • Skilled in Business Objects (Crystal Reports) or similar (BIRT) report design and development.
  • Experience in working with XML, DTD, XSD.
  • Experience with issue tracking (JIRA), project mgmt. and collaborative documentation tools (Confluence).
  • Ability to handle heavy work-loads and adapt to changing business priorities and unexpected challenges, while remaining focused in a fast paced environment.
  • Experience developing and supporting multiple applications and code bases.
  • Ability to manage complex problems during production support.
  • Strong independent work ethic.
  • Team members participate in a weekly support-on-call rotation.
