Job Description

Acts as a lead in providing application design guidance and consultation, utilizing a thorough understanding of applicable technology, tools and existing designs. Analyzes highly complex business requirements, designs and writes technical specifications to design or redesign complex computer platforms and applications. Responsible for technical design, development, coding, testing, debugging and documentation of applications to meet project requirements for in-house built and vendor integration. Provides coding direction to less experienced staff or develops highly complex original code. Acts as an expert technical resource for modeling, simulation and analysis efforts. Verifies program logic by overseeing the preparation of test data, testing and debugging of programs. Oversees overall systems testing and the migration of platforms and applications to production. Develops new documentation, departmental and technical procedures and user guides. Leads projects, allocates and manages resources and manages the work of less experienced staff. Assures quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported area and oversees creation of or updates to and testing of the business continuation plan. Conducts code and unit test review. Follows established enterprise development and design standards, guidelines and processes. Demonstrates accurate and complete understanding of system functionality and technical components. Provides high-quality consultation to business partners and demonstrate keen aptitude in acquiring business domain expertise. Participates in application management activities including BCP, SDLC & ERM activities, technical refresh support, critical surveys, analysis, platform releases, patching, vulnerabilities; and system management support for EIT mandates. Supports critical safety and soundness deliverables. Provides rotational off-hours production support



Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of application development and implementation experience

Other Desired Qualifications
  • 5 + years .NET 4.0 experience
  • 2+ years SOAP, webservices experience
  • 2+ years experience with Oracle RDBMS and PL-SQL
  • Knowledge and understanding of Autosys
  • Experience with programming distributed systems
  • Experience with Linux, shell scripts and shared tenancy environment
  • Strong personal drive and ability to work individually and in team environments
  • Ability to prepare Software Architecture Diagrams, Functional Design Specifications, Business Requirements, Functional Requirements and Technical Design documents
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a 3+ years Business understanding of Compliance and Risk Management
  • 3 years experience working with multiple LOB and software development teams
  • Experience with Custody Platforms and associated operations is a plus
  • Operational knowledge and understanding of financial services product terminology
  • Experience with PAC2K/Quality Center / Test Director / ALM is a plus
  • Strong and effective technical problem-solving skills including research and diagnostic skills
  • Understanding of project planning in technical and fast pace environment
  • Previous experience in communicating between technology and business partners
  • Experience working with offshore team members
  • Strong presentation skills and experience in presenting to senior management
  • Bachelor degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or Finance or related discipline
