Wells Fargo Wholesale Automation and Control Technology group within Enterprise Information Technology (EIT) is looking for an experienced Application System Engineer 5. This is a senior level position and primary responsibilities will include developing critical services to support payments, customer on boarding and financial crimes process flows.

This team member will work on complex concurrent projects and leverage multiple technologies for effective development and support of IT solutions concert with partners in Wholesale Product, Operations and Technology with expertise on big data platforms and languages such as Scala, Python, Java, Spark, PL/SQL and Hadoop to architect, design, develop technologies on Oracle's high performance, parallel and scalable in-Database implementation and using the R and Python languages as well as the machine learning capabilities to deliver AI initiatives in the bank.

The ideal candidate for this exciting new position will need to adapt to new technologies with a drive towards continuous improvements in the way technology solutions are delivered across multiple line of businesses. This position will be a direct report of mine and play a pivotal role in managing and shaping applications under this group, as well as being a strong software engineer themselves.

In addition this team member will:
Help manage and communicate applications technology platform status, project pipeline and development priorities
Focus on implementation and adoption of cloud technologies and best practices for automation, configuration, monitoring and platform scalability.
Assist with technical design documentation based on business functional and non-functional requirements, then work with other members of development teams to socialize and update design.
Create and review development estimates from development teams with senior management and actively seek clarification and verification as appropriate
Work closely with business partners in defining application requirements.

Required Qualifications

7+ years of application development and implementation experience5 + years of J2EE experience5+ years of RESTful or SOAP web services5+ years of SOA (Services Oriented Architecture) experience2+ years of MQ Series Messaging experience3+ years of experience with Spring, Spring Batch, and Spring Boot5+ years of relational database experience

Desired Qualifications

Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills2+ years of BPM development experienceKnowledge and understanding of API programming with Perl, XML, REST or JSON3+ years of Hibernate experienceExperience with automation, regression, and performance testing

Other Desired Qualifications A Bachelors Degree in Information Technology, STEM or related IT experience is preferred Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Experience in packaging and deploying applications using tools like Maven, uDeploy and Jenkins. Experience with enterprise system monitoring and high availability architectures. Experience with microservices development Experience with Elasticsearch.Job Expectations

Ability to travel up to 5% of the time
