Job Description:


One of Client transmission customer's is in need of a countdown timer script developed for certain mobile laptops to help comply with NERC regulations for these "Transient Cyber Assets - or TCA" that are a natural vulnerability. The purpose of the timer would be to lock down certain I/O features or ports of the laptops if they haven't received a required patch because of being disconnected from the network.


Experience:


- 8+ years of software development experience


- 5+ years of experience developing applications using C/C++ (MFC, Visual Studio)


- 5+ years of experience developing applications for a Windows operating system platform


- 2+ years of experience with SQL based databases (Sql server/Oracle)


Requirements/Skills:


- C/C++ programming and debugging skills


- Strong knowledge of networking concepts (HTTP, TCP/IP, UDP, socket)


- Microsoft Win32 API (SDK)


- Developing Windows based GUI applications


- SQL


- Multi-threaded application design a plus


- Kernel driver programming a plus


- Hardware-Software integration a plus Personal Attributes:


- Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills.


- Excellent written and oral communication skills.


Required Qualifications: Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related discipline. In lieu of a degree, 8 years of related business experience. Work experience in addition to degree: 5-10 years as an IT Application Developer or equivalent.


Job-specific knowledge, skills or abilities: Four years coding/programming, trouble-shooting, problem-solving, logical design, SQL coding, Business Requirements analysis, vendor management, root cause analysis.


Preferred Qualifications: Expert coding skills in 1 or more standard languages. Demonstrated success in complex problem solving and an understanding of quality delivery. Demonstrated ability to work with others having differing priorities/views/goals than your own; to meet your goals. Understand and lead others in use of System Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Effective communication skills. Experience with schema/database design, Enterprise Standards and Process Adherence.
