Wells Fargos Wholesale Banking CDD Technology team is looking for a senior data development lead to design, develop and query data schemas for various operational and strategic reporting needs. This lead role is responsible for analyzing the data for satisfying various adhoc business reporting needs and for designing the logical and physical data layers, optimized access layer for reporting tools. Also responsible to ensuring the data quality controls are implemented as defined in enterprise and wholesale data standards. Duties include providing data-driven insights, developing analytical strategies, developing the most comprehensive data and reporting for a wide array of business initiatives. Leads project/virtual teams & mentors lower level staff. May manage a small team. Applies significant knowledge of business, customers, and/or products/services/portfolios to synthesize data to 'form a story' and align information to contrast/compare to industry perspective. Data involved typically very large, structured or unstructured, and from multiple sources.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: reporting, analytics, or modeling; or a Masters degree or higher in a quantitative field such as applied math, statistics, engineering, physics, accounting, finance, economics, econometrics, computer sciences, or business/social and behavioral sciences with a quantitative emphasis and 5+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: reporting, analytics, or modeling
  • 10+ years of financial services industry experience
  • 5+ years of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) Programming experience
  • 10+ years of SQL experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of research and analysis
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively, in both written and verbal formats, with senior executive-level leaders
  • Ability to execute in a fast paced, high demand, environment while balancing multiple priorities
  • Ability to research, analyze, document, and present organizational metrics that drive business decisions
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision in a structured environment
  • Ability to work effectively in virtual environment where key team members and partners are in various time zones and locations
  • Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills with ability to turn findings into strategic imperatives
  • 3+ years of Teradata experience
  • 4+ years of experience with SAS or SQL, or other data management, reporting and query tools

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Strong logical and physical dimensional modeling experience especially around building data marts for reporting
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills
  • Prior experience writing complex and advanced SQL queries and tuning experience.
  • Experience with Oracle, Netezza, Teradata databases is preferred
  • Masters in Information Technology or Computer Science or Engineering
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills with the ability to quickly recognize and resolve problems.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and tasks simultaneously.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to acquire new concepts and skills quickly.
