Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. We focus on three key risk areas: credit risk, operational risk and market risk. Job Description:

Note: This position can be based in either Chandler (AZ) or Charlotte (NC), with an option to telecommute from one of those locations.

This consultant will:

  • Be a Data Visualization expert on the team, with extensive experience in data visualization theories, tools and techniques
  • Leverage data visualization tools to explore data, uncover new insights, create executive dashboards, and build tools for business partners to create self-service reporting, allowing for relevant customization and personalization
  • As reporting and analytics are developed, collaborate with key Enterprise Information Security partners in a matrixed environment to identify and define strategic business issues and goals requiring analysis/tracking
  • Consult with business partners to identify and define business requirements and translate needs into complex report designs and analysis recommendations
  • Be a visionary for new metrics and reporting, thinking creatively to connect the dots where others cannot and clearly articulate and execute the vision
  • Have experience navigating a complex data environment, be proficient at finding, combining, and cleansing/transforming data from different data sources, and have the ability to understand data without formal data structure and metadata
  • Maintain necessary processes, controls and procedures to ensure data accuracy and business functionality and comply with data governance, privacy, and security policies
  • Support ad-hoc report requests for reporting analysis and data issue investigation
  • Serve as a coach and mentor to other team members, challenging them to stretch their skillset to the next level
  • Required Qualifications

    3+ years of SQL experience3+ years of experience in one or more business intelligence tools6+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: reporting, analytics, or modeling; or a Masters degree or higher in a quantitative field such as applied math, statistics, engineering, physics, accounting, finance, economics, econometrics, computer sciences, or business/social and behavioral sciences with a quantitative emphasis and 4+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: reporting, analytics, or modeling

    ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) Programming experienceExperience building partnerships and consulting effectively with leadershipKnowledge and understanding of data warehouse architectures, techniques and toolsKnowledge and understanding of relational database concepts, querying, data warehousing, ETL process, requirements gathering and/or decision support toolsKnowledge and understanding of relational database designing schema, stored procedures, and views for performance with large data setsKnowledge and understanding of technology middleware: performance tuning and analyze bottlenecks5+ years of Cognos experienceStrong time management skills and ability to meet deadlinesExperience supporting or directing offshore teamsExperience designing and optimizing complex SQL queries involving table joins and correlated sub-queries on large scale data tablesExperience using business knowledge and critical thinking skills to deliver upstream and downstream project impactsExperience with Agile Scrum (Daily Standup, Sprint Planning and Sprint Retrospective meetings) and KanbanExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsExtensive knowledge and understanding of research and analysisStrong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

    Other Desired Qualifications
  • 5+ years Business Intelligence reporting and delivery architecture experience
  • Standard and advanced reporting experience using relational and OLAP sources
  • 5+ years experience creating scorecards/dashboards using Cognos products, preferably with Cognos 11 or higher. (Other Cognos products may include Report Studio, Query Studio, Analysis Studio, Cognos Workspace, Cognos Workspace Advanced, Cognos Insight, Cognos Active Reports, Event Studio, Framework Manager)
  • Cognos 11 reporting solutions experience
  • Drill-through reporting (cube to cube, cube to report, report to report)
  • Interactive and static scorecards and dashboards
  • Mobile Reporting is a plus
  • Business Insight, Business Insight Advanced
  • Cognos Workspace, Cognos Workspace Advanced, Cognos Insight, Framework Manager
  • Experience developing complex reports using Cognos relational models, DMRs and Multidimensional data Cubes
  • Experience creating Cognos Framework Models
  • Functional expertise with Cognos Transformer
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to acquire new concepts and skills quickly
  • Knowledge of other Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau
