Data Management and Insights (DMI) is transforming the way that Wells Fargo uses and manages data. The team is responsible for designing the future data environment, defining data governance and oversight, and partnering with technology to operate the data infrastructure for the company. This team also provides next generation analytic insights to drive business strategies and help meet our commitment to satisfy our customers financial needs.

Job description

This role is a part of DMIs Enterprise Analytics Team the central analytics group tasked with solving high-impact business challenges and standing up cutting-edge analytical capabilities to be shared across Wells Fargos analytic community.

We are looking for a high performer to join our team and help us solve challenging and interesting business problems through data exploration and visualization. In this highly valued role, you will be part of the Business Intelligence (BI) Consulting and DMI Analytics team. This team is focused on consulting with clients to identify and define strategic business issues that require analyses and translate this information into insight, knowledge and understanding of the business and the industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing support to DMI team members and projects through support of analytic solutions
  • Analyzing varied data sets for use in BI development
  • Providing both technical and process consulting
  • Developing dashboards and visualizations
  • Learning new tools and techniques based on what the projects require
  • Managing multiple project timelines concurrently
  • Lead through all aspects of the analytics lifecycle from intake and defining a business problem to extracting data, manipulating data, generating insights, and summarizing the story for partners and leaders

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: reporting, analytics, or modeling; or a Masters degree or higher in a quantitative field such as applied math, statistics, engineering, physics, accounting, finance, economics, econometrics, computer sciences, or business/social and behavioral sciences with a quantitative emphasis and 4+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: reporting, analytics, or modeling
  • 4+ years of data analysis experience
  • 4+ years of experience with SAS or SQL, or other data management, reporting and query tools
  • 3+ years of relational database experience
  • 3+ years of experience creating executive level dashboards, analytics, and reports using advanced visualization tools
  • 3+ years of Tableau experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of research and analysis
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Exposure to Wells Fargo data warehouses such as: EIW, BMG, MDSS, Hemisphere, IMS, SMS, or CMODS
  • Knowledge and understanding of database design/modeling logical and physical
  • Knowledge and understanding of Teradata
  • Ability to research, trend, and analyze data
  • Big Data experience
  • SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) experience
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of data organizing or structuring complex data across varied data sources
  • A BS/BA degree or higher in information technology

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Ability to translate and summarize complex data into understandable, actionable information and recommendations
  • Experience developing LOB reporting and performing complex data analysis
  • Ability to learn new software and visualization techniques on the job
  • Experience in one or more business intelligence tools
