Position Title: Oracle Database / APEX Developer


Job Summary:


The specific focus of this role is (70%) APEX development and (30%) Java scripting, HTML and database structure and access. Data modeling, process analysis and application development.


Key responsibilities for this position will include the following:


* Analyzes data on existing databases and makes process improvement and alternative approach recommendations to management.


* Confers with members of IT organization on recommended database design and implementation.


* Makes recommendations to inter-disciplinary team to enhance data integrity and security.


* Facilitates database design and administration meetings for moderately complex projects.


* Completes all phases of moderately complex database projects.


* Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems.


* Coaches less experienced team members on standards, technical solutions and documentation methodologies.


* Understands database administration and is skilled in database applications and standard databases.


* Ensures database stability and reliability.


* Guarantees data security by following access and integrity controls.


* Executes moderately complex database designs.


* Connects databases to applications and ensures technical integration and database connectivity across increasingly complex platforms and environments.


* Ensures data integrity and disaster recovery by conducting complex database backups using established procedures.


* Conducts database restoration in complex environments and time-sensitive situations.


* Suggests improvements to database backup and restore procedures.


* Tests complex databases to make certain database functionality meets performance requirements.


Position Requirements:


* Minimum of an Associates' degree is required for this position.


* 5+ years' experience with DBA and APEX development


Qualifications and Competencies Skills Requirements:


* Database Design - The ability to produce a detailed data model of a database containing all the logical and physical design choices and physical storage parameters needed to generate a design in a Data Definition Language and in turn to create a database.


* Database Tuning - Able to maximize the use of system resources to perform work as efficiently and rapidly as possible.


* Troubleshooting - Able to diagnose and problem solve issues with computer hardware or software components with little or no direction.


* System Development Methodologies - Able to apply industry defined development techniques to create or modify IT solutions.


* Apex development, Java script, CSS


Additional information from the manager:


* Direct from the manager: "A temporary application support position with strong DBA and developer experience to support CMI app repo and its related Asset management project. Assist with working with customers to get the application and its asset (server/database) mapping. Assist with defining the Hosted App repo governance model auditing process/notification process/leaver process. Assist with defining the process of syncing the required data from app repo and IT asset to Remedy/CMD"


* This is a new position for their group, there is enough work that an additional headcount is needed.


* This is a Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM position. Overtime may need to be worked on occasion, if that need comes that, a discussion will take place before that time needs to be worked.


* The max bill rate for this position is $76.04/hour. The manager has advised a higher bill rate can be considered for the right candidate. Please do not look to go higher than a 10% variance of the approved rate.

* When the manager is ready to interview, he will first be requesting phone screens - successful phone screen candidates will be asked to come in for an on-site interview.


* Local vs. non-local candidates - while the manager prefers local candidates, he is certainly open to considering candidates whom are not local. If a candidate needs to travel for either an on-site interview or is selected to fill this position, the cost to travel and/or relocate is the responsibility of the candidate and it not billable to Cummins.


* To start, remote work for this position is not an option. Selected hire will need to be on-site and able to work directly with the team they are being hired for.
