The Personal Investing Technology organization and Workplace Solutions business is looking for a player / coach to support scrum product adoption and evolution with a focus on our portfolio management activities.

Our portfolio management team includes both business and technology leaders from several internal Fidelity Business Units. We are eagerly transforming our portfolio management organization to shift from a project-orientation to a product-orientation, with intake and release planning activities supporting multiple scrum as well as waterfall delivery teams.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Modeling the way to help us evolve our practices by playing a scrum master and solution train engineer role in support of the portfolio management function
  • Supporting the Portfolio Leadership team including Product Management and Product Ownership with on the spot coaching to improve our scrum product owner practices
  • Identify and eliminate obstacles that prevent the team from achieving their goals and ensure effective communication within and across delivery teams.
  • Facilitating discussion, decision making, conflict resolution and building a trusting and safe environment in a highly matrixed and cross-functional team.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Computer Science/Information Technology or related discipline
  • Certified Scrum Master to assist teams in performing development utilizing the Agile methodology with 6-9 years' experience as Scrum Master as well as practical experience managing or coaching in a scaled agile implementation
  • Experience with other financial services clients preferred

Skills and Knowledge

  • Demonstrated expertise as a Scrum Master for a software development team applying Scrum principles and practices
  • Demonstrated expertise managing the planning and delivery with a scaled agile implementation
  • Demonstrated skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
  • Working knowledge of associated Agile tools such as JIRA
