Job SummaryThe Application Development Manager is responsible for leading and managing cross-functional software development and/or design teams as well as managing multiple products throughout the product life cycle. Oversees projects and software releases to ensure milestones and project deliverables are met. Directly manages development team personnel that are focused on specific custom application solutions. Uses working knowledge of application systems and business processes to identify process improvement initiatives and targeted opportunities for improvements in the application.Summary of Accountabilities¢ Manages the day-to-day operations and staff of the application development team. ¢ Responsible for the successful execution of the project portfolio, driving projects from the initial identification phase through analysis, testing, and execution working with leadership and key stakeholders.¢ Develops, plans and executes testing for supported applications. Oversees the management and development of new functionality, testing and implementing scheduled software releases and system upgrades and fixing system defects.¢ Manages client relationships at all levels of the organization, providing consultative services, assuring client project prioritization and operational needs are handled expeditiously. Relays client requirements and priorities to his/her own team.¢ Oversees the change management procedures and protocols for the department; creates policies and procedures for all assigned applications. Develops, plans and executes testing for supported applications.¢ Oversees the change management procedures and protocols for the department; creates policies and procedures for all assigned applications.¢ Collaborates with leadership in providing strategic recommendations for process improvement initiatives.¢ Manages the project portfolio documentation list and related documentation and is responsible for preparing leadership reports.¢ Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures¢ Other duties as assigned to support the unit, department, entity, and health system organization

Required Education and Experience\n•\tBachelor's Degree required\n•\tMaster’s Degree preferred\n•\t7+ years of Information Systems experience required that includes a combination of software development, business analysis, team management, product management, and/or project management\n\nRequired Skills\n•\tStrong quantitative and analytical abilities\n•\tAbility to communicate with internal and external constituents\n•\tAbility to communicate effectively with all levels of staff\n•\tDemonstrated interpersonal/verbal communication skills\n•\tDemonstrated customer service skills\n•\tAbility to drive multiple projects with overlapping timeframes\n•\tDemonstrated project management skills\n•\tAbility to recruit, lead, and manage a high performing team
