Radar Signal Processing Engineer

Position Summary:

The Radar Signal Processing Engineer is responsible for providing technical insights to the Radar signal processing team which includes contributors in the US and Europe. The team is responsible for the design, development, verification and testing of automotive radar embedded signal processing algorithms that are the cornerstone to the growing Active Safety product portfolio. The ideal candidate should be a technical decision maker in the selection and implementation of signal processing techniques utilized by a highly capable, global team. The Radar Signal Processing Engineer should be able to innovate in an expanding market environment with major technological shifts on the horizon. A person in this role should also be a talented communicator with the ability to convey signal processing methodologies to internal and external customers. The ideal candidate should be self-starting with a ready willingness to originate solutions without being directed to do so.

Specific Duties:

  • Design and write simulations for cutting-edge radar signal processing algorithms in Matlab
  • Create presentations and document algorithms for sharing concepts with the team
  • Implement algorithms in Visual Studio; perform regression on collected data to debug and optimize
  • Exhibit a detailed knowledge of radar system fundamentals and waveform processing
  • Develop software for fixed-point DSPs based on PC algorithms written in C/C++.
  • Develop serial communication software (SPI, I2C, CAN etc.) for DSPs and micro-controllers.
  • Optimize fixed-point signal processing software for latency and frame rate on a multi-processor DSP ECU.
  • Enhance existing PC based algorithm development tools using VisualStudio.net, C++/C, MFC, and/or WIN32.
  • Insure requirement compliance and timeliness for radar platform development efforts
  • Contribute to the technical leadership of the organization which includes substantial input to R&D decisions
  • Process improvement participation which includes definition and execution of Improvement projects which meet or exceed compliance with overall organizational objectives
  • Compliance with Standards and Business Conduct Requirements
  • Other duties as assigned by your supervisor

Education, Experience and Skills Requirements:

  • MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering plus 10+ years related work experience in Radar Signal Processing or Digital Signal Processing for embedded or real-time software systems.
  • C and/or assembly programming of DSPs and micro-controllers.
  • Software development of computationally intensive algorithms for fixed point DSPs.
  • Experience in the Automotive industry a plus
  • Experience with CMMI or ASPICE
  • Configuration management and version control experience
  • Good oral and written communication
